Man vows to trek from Lagos to Maiduguri if Shekau is captured alive

- A 40-year-old man has promised to take a walk of victory should the troops of the Nigerian Army captured the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau - Deji Oladimeji said this in reaction to the military's recent successes against the terrorists' group - According to Oladimeji, he does not mind embarking on the victory walk from Lagos to Maiduguri A native of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, Deji Oladimeji, has vowed to march from Lagos to Maiduguri should the Nigerian Army capture Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau alive. Oladimeji, who resides in the Ajah area of Lagos, disclosed this while reacting to the Army’s recent feat against the fleeing terrorists. In the last one week, the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, have shown aggressive gallantry and bravery, crushing the insurgents at every instance. No fewer than 150 lost their lives when an attempted attack turned to soar in Buni Gari, Yobe State, as they met superior fire from the troops. Boko Haram:

 There are reports, however, that Shekau suffered heavy bruises from the multiple offensives which have so far consumed some of his top generals. Military authorities reveal that Shekau's body language is that of one ready to surrender. “If you talk about body language, the body language is there. If he makes any move in that regard, you will know but from the onslaught from troops, they can’t hide anymore," Coordinator of the Directorate of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), Major General John Enenche, said. Although the military added that there was no official contact with the terror leader yet, Nigerians have kicked against such move, calling on the troops to finish him once and for all. However, Oladimeji, who is a popular businessman in his neighbourhood wants Shekau captured alive.

Coronavirus - FG seeks COVID-19 patients for herbal drug trials

The Federal Government says there are pharmaceutical processes and standards that must be observed before endorsing any proposed herbal or homegrown drug for use by coronavirus patients in the country. The Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, made this known on Friday during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja. He said the health ministry would soon meet with scientists, researchers, and traditional medicine specialists in the country who have registered that they have one drug or the other for the treatment of Lethal virus. He noted that the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control would test such drugs to ascertain whether they are fit for human consumption, adding that such drugs would undergo clinical trials and this would require a few COVID-19 patients to willingly accept that the drugs be tested on them. CORONAVIRUS - Osun records third COVID-19 death

Osun State Government on Saturday announced the death of another COVID-19 patient, taking the number of death linked to the disease to three in the last week. Also, three health workers that had initially tested positive to the disease in the state have fully recovered.The State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu, in a statement, said the deceased in her late 60s died at the isolation centre in General Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo. Isamotu also said COVID-19 index case in the state had been discharged after spending thirty-eight days in isolation. He explained that the case had arrived in Osun State from the United Kingdom before being taken into the Isolation Centre, and subsequently to the care facility, where he received medical care for 38 days.
